Neighbor assaulting people - SMPD doing nothing
For the last few months a neighbor in my building has been verbally and physically assaulting people in the building. He yells the n-word at Black tenants and walks around in only a towel in the middle of the street - he jumped in front of my car once. There’s two small boys who live with him - around 10 and 5. They don’t go to school and don’t leave the apartment. He’s told me and a few other women in the building he’s going to kill us. SMPD have known for months now and haven’t done anything beyond saying “they’re looking into it”. He throws rocks and canned food at people from his balcony as they walk through the courtyard of the building. 3 weeks ago he punched a gardener who was doing some work on the property. The tenant was arrested but made bail and came back the next day, extra angry. A few days ago he attacked a nearly 70 year old woman on the property. Punched her and then broke all the windows of her car when she tried to hide in it. The guys kids were cussing at her as the guy attacked her. He also punched another woman who tried to help. He then fled into his apartment and the cops still won’t arrest him cus they say they don’t have a warrant to go in and are still “looking into it”. I’m scared for whoever the next victim will be.
What is SMPD doing?? What are they waiting for?? Any tips on how to protect myself since all i’ve gotten from the cops is “don’t film him because that’ll make him mad at you”
