Entry requirements for a PhD

Hi guys, I'm currently a Master's student (coursework) at UA (transitioned from UoA). I have completed my last course (Research Project Part B ) and am waiting for my grade to be released.

I want to pursue a PhD and am concerned about whether a UoA coursework Master's satisfies this requirement: "at least 0.5 years full time (or part time equivalent) of research training." I have completed Research Project Parts A and B (0.5 years). Does my master's program meet this requirement? I want to confirm before I spend time finding a supervisor and writing a proposal. Has anyone in the same position been admitted to a PhD program?

Has anyone who is a UoA alumnus (from a coursework Master's) successfully been awarded a PhD scholarship without any publications?

Do you think applying for a scholarship for an MPhil is less competitive than for a PhD?

Please share. Thank you!
