How to handle religious door knockers.

I'm an Atheist. I call myself a 'devout Atheist'. i actually hate religion, all of them, equally - but that's not the point of this post.

I often see questions about how to handle religious door knockers and it never ceases to amaze me how many people struggle with this.

Here's how to do it. I'm 57 and in my longish life, this has never failed me.

Typically they knock, say hello when you answer the door and then launch into their speil. I listen long enough to establish they're promoting a religion and then interupt with the following:

"Can I stop you right there please. I'm a devout Atheist and have no time for this. Have a good day."

And that's it. I'm friendly, say nothing rude and they say thank you and leave. Every time. I don't see why it has to be such a drama for some.

i'm 6 weeks out from end of lease and awaiting a response from PM as the whether they're raising the rent.

they contacted me a few weeks ago to remind me my lease is ending and invited me to reply to discuss my options.

i responded to the effect that due to current market rental values for properties comparable to mine, i will move on if they increase the rent. i said it nicer than that. (i've paid over market for a year, i have a spotless rental ledger and i keep the property in pristine condition) i'm in a big house that are not as easy to rent out as smaller properties.

PM and LL came to inspect the property last week. I've asked for an answer about whether they're raising the rent and I've yet to receive a reply. meanwhile the clock is ticking and the longer it takes them to reply, the less time I have to find another rental, should i need to.

how long is it appropriate to wait?
