Recommended sleep medicines

I have had insomnia my whole life, but I wouldn’t classify it as severe at all. Worst night for me looks like five ours of kind of broken sleep. However a new worst has happened the past two days. I only slept three very broken hours of sleep the last two nights. I have no CLUE why. I have no new stressors in my life. Anyway, I am thinking about going to a sleep doctor or doctor who prescribes sleep medicine and was wondering what has worked for other insomniacs out there. My usual issue is STAYING a sleep, but the past two nights have been not being able to settle my brain and pass the sleep barrier if that makes sense. Like I’m sleepy, but once I start falling asleep my brain doesn’t let me fully fall into sleep it kind of kicks me awake as if there is something I need to be alert for… please let me know 🫶🏻

Jack Sparrow in Ueno

I apologize profusely for how loud I said “girl” in the video. His music was rock concert level loud.🤣

Edit: that’s CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow. I apologize and I belong in the brig.

Americans called to Jury Duty while abroad.

Idk if this is a good sub to ask in, but I live in Japan and thought I would try. I was called to jury duty May 30th apparently and it starts on July 1st. But my sister (who lives at my old residence) didn’t tell me until a week or two ago. Something on the letter says “call by June 5th” it doesn’t specify if that’s to tell them you can’t make it or not it literally just says call by June 5th.

Drawing of the week from my husband.

I wasn’t going to post again about this but this week the prompt for the fridge drawing was “something to make me laugh” and my husband DELIVERED 🤣 so I had to share this drawing with you lovely people.

My husband draws a doodle for me every week

My husband draws a cute doodle for me on our fridge every week. He was doing it spontaneously, but now I’ve been making requests. I just thought the internet should see his cute little art and something that makes me smile ✨ This week’s request: “cute frog in a jar”

Are often do出張 (business trips) happen at your company?

I am asking because my husband and I just moved back to Japan this year and his company sure seems to make him do business trips often. It kind of sucks that he has to be away almost every month for some trip that seems highly unnecessary. He doesn’t like them either. He says they feel like a waste of time because it takes away from the work he actually needs to be getting done at his company. He works at a bank, and it’s actually not a Japanese bank (I don’t want to give too much away about his info, but I’ll just say it’s not a Japanese bank), but could he expect this type of thing at Japanese companies as well? Do any of you work at Japanese banks/companies or other foreign banks in Japan and experience this?

Job Interview worries

I already posted this in a weekly thread in Japan Residents subreddit, but I’m going to post here too because I live in Tokyo.

I have N3 Japanese, so my expectations for a part time job are not high. I need to up my Japanese before looking for a job a really want, so I’m okay doing whatever part time work until then. I have applied to restaurants and hotels and things of the like and have said in my application and emails that I do not speak Japanese very well. Some of them seem interested in an interview, so that’s great, but how tf do I get through that??? The email was completely in Japanese and I was shook. It’s not because they emailed in Japanese, but it was because it made me realize that even though I can survive on my own in Japan with my level of Japanese and even have decent conversations with people, there is still so much I do not understand, so now I’m worried.

Have any of you gotten a part time job (not English teaching) with lower level Japanese? How did you get through the interview? In your experience were people understanding? Give me any tips if you have any.

Plus size stores for women in Tokyo

Any recommendations for women who are 2XL American size and up in Tokyo? More cute clothing not necessarily anything everyday. So far everything I’ve found is like business clothing. I assume there is more than that because I’ve seen other plus girls here with cute clothes 🥺 they may possibly buy online though. If there are in person stores that anyone can recommend that would be great!
