A Question About Lime Slush

With the supposed permanent release of Lime Slush (along with Purple Cotton Candy) coming next year, I wonder what will happen to this subreddit in the future and what would/could be the next flavour that gains its popularity.

Odds are that nothing would change and L.S. will still be the most popular one here, but I feel that most of its hype is centered around its limited quantity. People love it, but it's hard to find in a lot of stores. So once it's finally a permanent flavour, what then? Would we get the same energy output (Petitions & such) for other flavours like Cherry Bomb? Would we talk about any other flavours as much as this one? Would anything change at all?

Just a quick thought that I had 🙃.

My NEW Alani Flavours Tierlist [+ Elixir Tierlist]

Compared to my old tierlist, I'm more proud of how this one turned out. It's more defined as a whole instead of just sorting them into 3 tiers, and it was done while I drank each flavour instead of basing it on what taste I remember. If you're curious about my thoughts on each of them individually, then you can check my reviews on them 🦜 (Just note that their placement may or may not be the same on this one).

Top 3:

  1. Breezeberry
  2. Ruby Red/Apple
  3. Cherry Bomb

Best:

  1. Juicy Peach
  2. Sherbet Swirl
  3. Cherry Twist

  4. Hawaiian Shaved Ice
  5. Orange Kiss

  5. Blue Slush

Below Average:

Alani + Elixir Review #18: Witch's Brew

Taste [Base Flavour]: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thoughts: Just like Ruby Red/Apple, this drink has a caramel apple vibe going for it. However, this one is heavier on the caramel part rather than the apple one. The caramel is not the most accurate taste, but it's alright and considerably strong. The green apple flavour tastes great, and I love the sourness to it.

Back in the other potion review, I said that I'm a huge fan of apples and anything with its flavour. I still am, and W.B. doesn't make me change my mind on that, but I wouldn't put this flavour high on my list because it's more about the caramel taste rather than the green apple one. Ruby Red leans more towards one flavour while Witch's Brew leans towards the other, and I can't be the biggest fan of this one. It's still a great flavour nonetheless.

Taste [Elixir]: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thoughts: In this mix, the apple portion is brought out way more due to Voodoo Vanilla. Also, the caramel portion is dimmed down so both aspects of this drink are brought to equal footing. V.V. can only be faintly tasted upon each sip, but it's not strong in the slightest.

As I expected, based on how the other potion went and the main gimmick of Voodoo Vanilla, this mix works perfectly. Each flavour is altered to make them blend perfectly together without one of them overpowering the other. The only difference from this and Ruby Red is that V.V. is barely anywhere on your tastebuds. It's not really a lost per say since it still manages to do their job to the best ability. Now some people do love how the potions taste by themselves, maybe because of how one flavour is stronger than the other (?). So, if you're open to equaling out the taste, I would highly recommend this mix.

[I decided to put the Potion Pack in their own tier mainly because of how their mixes went perfectly well. This was to be expected since that was the point of V.V. in the first place, so I wanted to clear the space in the top so other flavours that weren't designated for mixing can be judged fairly without skewing the ranking in favour of the potions.]

Alani + Elixir Review #17: Orange Kiss

Taste [Base Flavour]: ⭐⭐⭐

Thoughts: Taste both sweet and sour with an almost equal ratio to it. The orange in this is not too strong on your tastebuds, and it's handled in the best way in my eyes.

Similar to Watermelon Wave, there's not much to describe about a one & done flavour such as this. It's a good taste, the aftertaste is not bad at all, and it's an enjoyable experience.

Taste [Elixir]: ⭐⭐⭐

Thoughts: Mixing the base flavour with V.V. amounts to nothing new besides the hints of marshmallow. Everything from O.K. stays the same (the sweetness, the sour aspects, and the orange flavouring) and the only difference you'll get is tasting V.V. first thing upon each sip.

There's really nothing to note on this one. The mix doesn't make it better, nor does it make it worse than before. It just stays the same, which sucks because I was really looking forward to this one. I'm pretty disappointed in both how this turned out and how little I have to say in both reviews. On the bright side, at least this isn't a bad flavour.

Alani + Elixir Review #16: Blue Slush

Taste [Base Flavour]: ⭐⭐⭐

Thoughts: The blue raspberry taste in this one is weaker than the one in Breezeberry. The slush aspect has the same vibes from Lime Slush (sounds obvious, but the vibes in those are vastly different as opposed to Pink Slush), making it taste sweet but is ultimately lacking in some Way. It's sweet with a hint of sourness, with both parts coming together a little after each sip.

This one will most likely end up as my favourite slush variation. It has the same slush taste as Lime Slush but with a flavouring that I enjoy way more. Still though, I can't be fully on board with any slush due to how sweet they are. They're good, and there's definitely other sweet flavours that have higher rankings, but all of the slushes have this weird sweetener that slowly makes it unbearable to drink. Maybe that's just me, I'm not sure.

Taste [Elixir]: ⭐

Thoughts: The first sip that I got tasted like medicine. I thought I was overexaggerating the taste a bit. The second sip was much of the same, but this time I considered the possibility of there being an indescribable taste just like in the Breezeberry review. The third sip, just like before, still taste like medicine.

There isn't much to describe the taste with, but I can say for certain that V.V. refuses to mix with the blue raspberry flavouring. Only the slush part was enhanced and made sweeter than before. The pairing of both the main flavour and the new slush flavour do not work well and, ultimately, creates that medicine taste that lingers after each sip. I wouldn't recommend this at all.

Alani + Elixir Review #15: Breezeberry

Taste [Base Flavour]: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thoughts: This has a really strong blue raspberry taste. It starts out sour and ends with a slightly tart taste. It's very candy-like, yet it's not super sweet. The aftertaste is just the same as the main taste just dwindled down.

The first time I had tried this flavour, I wasn't a fan of it. I believe that I was getting a different taste from it because this is not how I remember it. It's such an amazing flavour and I'm honestly shocked that I've been missing out for a while now. My only complaint, and this is a personal nitpick, is that it's basically the liquid equivalent of eating candy. This isn't a bad thing, but I fear that I could down 3 of these and get sick afterward. It's really just that good.

[I knocked down Strawberry Sunrise to the top of "Above Average" because although it's an amazing flavour, I don't see myself going back to this one as often as the other flavours that are in a higher placement.]

Taste [Elixir]: ⭐⭐⭐

Thoughts: Although it almost feels like there isn't anything new added to this mix besides the marshmallow notes, there is a subtle taste that is present. It's not an instant taste, as it only shows up in about 4 seconds upon each sip. I'm not exactly sure how to describe what it is. It's not bad, but it's also not enough to be considered good. I would best describe it as the "aftertaste" of both flavours blending together.

It's a strange addition that is brought out in this mix. The original taste of Breezeberry is still there and is practically unaltered, and the marshmallow aspect from V.V. barely go together with the base flavour, but the weird "aftertaste" vibe from the flavour mixing is a minute, yet noticeable, difference. The original aftertaste is still there and doesn't really have anything new from Voodoo Vanilla, but that fake aftertaste is just odd to me. You could definitely ignore it, but I wouldn't consider this mix since it's just the same taste.

Alani + Elixir Review #14: Pumpkin Cream

2/3 of the wheel of flavours has been completed 🐡.

Taste [Base Flavour]: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thoughts: This one has a sweet and creamy feeling to it. The pumpkin taste is unique and almost indescribable. The best thing I can note it as is a more liquified puree with it not being heavily spiced up. The cream portion feels more like an enhancer to the pumpkin part rather than a standalone taste. It reminds me of a faux Pumpkin Spice Latte.

This flavour is, arguably, THE MOST acquired taste out of all 22 (current) flavours that I have placed on the list. It's not the best representation of an Autumn Latte or any fall drinks, nor is it the best example of a pumpkin or cream flavour, but there is still charm to what Pumpkin Cream have going for it. The imitations are really good and not too much on your tastebuds. The aftertaste is very bearable since all you get from it is just pumpkin and spice notes. The main issue would be from the cream flavouring, as it tastes almost watered down. That does throw me for a loop, as it almost doesn't taste like cream at all. Despite that issue, it looks like its purpose was to not be a flavour that can act on its own. The purpose of adding cream into the mix was to get more of a pumpkin taste in each sip, which I find to be an acceptable tradeoff. Even if that's not the case, this is still a highly enjoyable drink for me.

Taste [Elixir]: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thoughts: Mixing the base flavour with Voodoo Vanilla, the cream flavouring will be enhanced with the new marshmallow notes. This makes that flavour much sweeter and more defined, almost letting it become a standalone flavour. There are also a few hints of vanilla mixed in there, but you can mainly taste that in the aftertaste. The pumpkin in this becomes stronger, but the hints of spices do stay the same.

Mixing this with V.V. definitely improves the experience. Although it helped make the cream aspect taste better, it didn't make all of the flaws from the base version go away. You would still get the original taste in each sip, but not instantly like before. Everything else that was brought into the mix is worth it, so I would suggest this for anyone who is a fan of Pumpkin Cream.

Alani + Elixir Review #1: Cherry Bomb

The randomizer wanted me to start off with this one.

Taste [Base Flavour]: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thoughts: Taste like a Cherry Coke that is more cherry forward than cola forward. Decently sweet and not overpowering at all.

Definitely a really good one, but honestly, I think it's lacking among other great flavours. A cola flavour is good, of course, but 7 times out of 10 I would rather buy a Coke/Pepsi/other miscellaneous cola and get a different Alani than this one.

Taste [Elixir]: ⭐⭐

Thoughts: V.V. overpowers the original taste by a wide marking, making the cherry taste barely noticeable. I only taste cola and marshmallow, and that isn't enough to win me over.

I expected this mix to taste like the "Cherry Float" Coke, but all I'm getting is a slightly botched Vanilla Coke. Not a fan of it, so I would just keep these two separate.

Quick Question about Dented Lids

This is the first time that I have came across a dented lid like this. It looks salvagable, but in the scenario which it's not usable (and for future reference) what is there to be done?

Update: I'm a Fan Now 🧡

These cans came in today, so I decided to crack open my Canadian version of this flavour. Safe to say that I really enjoy it after retrying it.

Where I would put it on my tierlist now? Not quite sure yet. That would be a thought for later down the road 🐤.

My Current Collection

I don't really got a spot to put them, so they're just kept in a bag for future use 🦐. I also got some stored in my potion pack box (4 Witch's Brew/3 Ruby Apple/3 Winter Wonderland/1 Lime Slush/1 Cherry Bomb) at the moment.

Is It Possible To Recreate This Flavour?

So I've gotten into Alanis fairly late and saw this discontinued flavour. Since it has a taste of "Blueberry, cherry, and hints of lime" in it, I was thinking if mixing different ones can make a similar taste to it?

My quick pitches:

Blue slush/Cherry slush/Lime slush

Breeze Berry & Cherry twist

Evil and Intimidating Pumpkin Cream

It's just standing there...

Also is it bad that I really want to get more of these? I have to hold onto this one for a little bit but I'm honestly tempted to get another can 🪼.
