F******

APR didn’t remove enough. There were viable cancer cells right up to the edge of what they cut out, which means it’s almost certain there are still some left. I’m devastated.

I’ve still got hope, a further surgery in option, but they removed as much as they possibly could without affecting my vagina, so RIP my sex life (not that it’s been the most active during this treatment but I’d hoped it would come back).

Husband is of course amazing. He says there’s nothing to think about, because I need to be alive to have a sex life, but shit. This sucks — feeling heartbroken.

Anyone had APR?

After a whirlwind that went from expecting scan results on 7th September to being called in 2 working days after the scan and being told “we recommend APR and we can do it on Wednesday” I had the APR a week ago.

I’m now out of hospital, doing GREAT in the circumstances, but can’t lie, it hurts like hell.

Any advice from people that have had it for what made you more comfortable?

I’ve got some incontinence pants to help with the fluid. Finding I can get comfortable leaning on the sofa (can’t sit properly, but can lounge side wise). I’m trying to keep active as much as I can (which at the moment is a quick lap of the block but I’m moving).

Honestly the best thing I’ve found so far is gin 😂
