What future do you see for this year’s artists?

Bangaranga is going viral, it’s already happening. Also Dara’s dicography is large enough for her to start touring now which can add to the media exposure. She just needs some more songs in english to go truly mainstream.

Romania’s Alexandra could become the Nightwish of the new generation. I see them touring a lot (concerts and festivals) and having a long and successful career, but they need to start releasing new songs in the similar style now and start touring this summer!

You might think that Look mom no computer did bad but he is one of the participating artists that has the best discography and is ready for touring. I can see him gaining popularity and touring clubs and festivals starting this summer or as he says in his song Damage is done - 'Cause when the damage is done we can get up and run, run’.

With his performance Jonas Lovv gave a huge statement about who he is as an artist, which made me so much more confused when checking his discography. It’s not bad, but it’s just not Rock’n’roll. It he continues working in Ya ya ya direction and releases some songs fast, I see him becoming a concert sensation and one of the most charismatic European Rock’n’roll singers of the new generation. But he needs to act fast!

Felicia is going to do just fine, we can’t get her out of our system and the numbers of Spotify streams prove that.

Søren delivered something that feels incredibly fresh and contemporary, something that lacks on the European music scene. But his discography doesn’t support that. He needs to deliver new songs in the similar direction fast but he could also just take his older, slower songs and remix them in a similar way. It’s not cheating, it’s artist finding his own voice.

Delta Goodrem gained new audience but I don’t think it will improve her success by a lot as she is already an established artist.

Alicja from Poland reminds me of the vocalists that Moby collaborates and performs with and are always incredible. She needs to do some collaborations fast!

Italy was well… very Italian. I see Sal growing his popularity in Italy. I know he received a lot of public points but I just don’t see him touring Europe (at least not large venues).

Antigoni is gorgeous, not the best vocalist, but the color of her voice and just the way she naturally is (smiling all the time, looking very happy, gentle energy) will grow her popularity, but mostly online, not as a live performer.

Lelek have a niche where they can do great but I don’t see them gaining a mainstream sucess… let’s hope they prove me wrong.

Lavina- I hope to have an opportunity to see them perform live in the future and to see some Eurovision fans in the public mixed with all the metalheads. It makes me chuckle.

Essyla (Belgium) has a very specific color of the voice. It reminded me of the Knife singer for a bit. Her discography is consistant but nothing special, so some success but nothing revolutionary.

Daniel Zizka’s song was trully something special but for some reason I can’t see where it could lead him in the future. The song could be either an introduction to an amazing either to a very underwhelming musical journey. I’d suggest him to listen to Alison Goldfrapp (especially the album Tales of us) and Antony and the Johnsons.

Cosmo needs to choose a clear music direction and can surprise us in the future but not yet.

I’m affraid Satoshi and Akylas are one hit wonders. I hope they prove me wrong.

I see Leleka having a succesfull tour of small intimate concerts.

Lion Cecah will be forever remembered just by Eurovision fans.

Sarah Engels will continue being successful on German pop charts.

Monroe will have a very successful career in France, probably theatre.

Alis- Nân- I’m sorry but I just can’t see what the next step for an artist could be after such a dramatic song.

—————-—————-——————-—————-

Overall I think Dara will do absolutely the best of all the performers in the next year. Felicia and Look mom no computer can gain their momentum with summer touring. Alexandra, Jonas and Søren need to act fast, start releasing new music now, and can become successful mainsteam artists with sold out tours.

I wish all the success to all of the artists who performed at Eurovision this year!

P.s. Malta seems to want us to think they are the new Deslocado with buying youtube views. It’s very embarrassing and will probably damage Aidan’s reputation a lot. That is also the reason I did not include him earlier.

P.p.s. Trying to be objective but I am (as probably everyone) a bit biased by my own music taste. I don’t understand the mass appeal of Delta (same for example with Celine Dion) but do have respect for this type of singers. However the mass appeal for Bangaranga makes total sense, even if it’s not my type of music.

P.p.p.s I spent so much time thinking about what to white about Finland that I forgot to include them in the end. I’m very sorry because they were great, especially the violin part. This one is very difficult to predict because it was a collaboration and both are established artist, but probably won’t do future collaborations? So I just wish them luck in their solo careers!
