UGA Student Premium AI License Pilot Program

I’m an Emerging Media Double Dawg through the New Media Institute and was recently awarded with a student premium license but I can’t seem to connect it to Xcode for class purposes since we’re exploring AI.

I got the Copilot one and my friend got the Gemini one. I tried both but it doesn’t work and I’m not sure if I’m connecting it correctly.

If it ends up not working out, does anyone know if the UGA Institute for AI offers free AI licenses to students? Or anywhere else?

A premium AI plan is required for class but I don’t have that kinda money right now 😭

Any insight is appreciated thank you!!

One act play story idea

Hey so i’m a college student taking a dramatic writing class and we’re tasked to write a 15-45 page one act play. I’ve been writing and scraping a lot of ideas because I had trouble with progressing the story (even i lost interest and thought it became boring like 10 pages in).

Last night i thought of a new idea that I would love to hear honest feedback.

two exes meet at a football game because it was planned prior to the breakup. they haven’t spoken in a couple of months. the girl is holding onto a baseball passport (the couple document every game they attended AKA a memory relic AKA the object of negotiation) and the boy demands it back. he’s actually just using it as an excuse to pry into her life ever since they stopped talking. He isn’t dying to have it back, but he’s making it the focus of the convo to get her talking.

these two characters are recent grads and they had a brief history during their school days. their relationship ended due to a lack of communication and no one wanting to be hurt (both people waiting for the other to fully commit, they prioritized chemistry over compatibility)

the two shadow characters are two attendees sitting behind them who appear to have a rowdy dynamic in the sense that one partner is loud and energetic while the other is calm. despite seemingly clashing, they communicate well and even have a brief “fight” during the game while a discussion of their future comes up. the two main characters hear their fight and realize what their own communication could’ve been.

the story is meant to be heart felt and leaning towards “what could’ve been”

ultimately, things don’t work out. the exes are moving to opposite ends of the country for work. what the boy reveals towards the end is that he actually gave up his position to move to the girl’s city. but nearing the end of the game, she receives an email from work informing her that a new flagship location has opened and she’s being relocated to the boy’s city (as per her request when she first started).

so i kinda wanted the whole miscommunication idea to circle back and haunt them again. 😫

previously in class i wrote a comedy but now i really want to challenge myself to writing the saddest sob story ever

thank you for reading my silly little idea :P

Curious about Realtor Career

I’ve seen a lot of Gwinnett realtors on my Instagram feed and I became interested in how that career works because most of the realtors look super young and hip. I saw a classmate have an Instagram page for her realtor gig but she doesn’t have a degree for it.

Is it as fun as it looks? What’s the reality of it?

For context, I’m nearing the end of college and I don’t want to work a corporate 9-5!

How would you study if you were me?

OMG THIS IS THE LAST SEMESTER BEFORE I GRADUATE!!
Ngl, I've been so bad at maintaining a feasible study schedule, and I find myself constantly overwhelmed because of disorganization leading to stress and tiredness.

For context I commute an hour to school and this is how my class schedule looks like.

Mon & Wed:

  • 9:55 -11:15 am
  • 1:15 - 2:35 pm
  • 2:55 - 4:15 pm

Tues & Thurs:

  • 9:55 - 11:15 am

If I want to prioritize studying/completing assignments, my health, such as light exercise, 8 hours of sleep, healthy meals, and not coming home too late (I take care of my elder relatives at home), how should I structure my day so I can make sure I have enough time to do all these things?

Communications senior student in college curious about teaching

I'll be graduating soon and after studying advertising as my major and film as my minor, I realized that a corporate job isn't right for me. I've had a couple internship experiences with different environments, and I noticed that the root issue of why I didn't enjoy them was because it was a corporate setting. It's not only that I sat glued to a computer the whole day, but also the toxic work culture. If there's one thing that I did like, it was the rare chances I had to work outreach programs.

I like exploring my community like going to events and occasionally volunteering and I want to do something worthwhile in my career such as making a positive impact on people's lives as opposed to contributing to a large corporation.

I don't know what grade to teach if I do go down this route because I don't know the realistic school day of grade level and what to expect, avoid, etc.

I've never had experience with teaching but back in high school I formed a club where I mentored underclassmen in college and career prep.

I don't even know what I would teach because advertising is very specific and not broad like teaching a core subject.

Not sure what to do but I thought it was worth asking about! I feel like I have more potential in helping my community than being a corporate worker.

Tapping back into my love for learning languages, spanish edition. seeking any study tips and tricks

I learned spanish back in high school and it’s been a few years since then and im finally deciding to relearn it and brush up on my skills. I would love to understand and communicate with the people around as I live near an area with a high spanish speaking population. Not only do I want to learn, understand, speak, and think in the language, but i also want to connect with and explore the culture.

I just wanted to make a post and celebrate that it’s summer and i am excited to start this journey that i’ve been putting off!!🥂

I have other languages i want to learn/refine my skills in but i thought id start with spanish

anyone have any realistic studying schedule, immersion advice, etc? I would say my spanish skills are extremely elementary and i also have two summer classes right now and aim to lightly study spanish with the little down time im able to carve out.

exam tomorrow and i feel hopeless

hi everyone, I am a business minor and for my maymester I’m taking a financial management class and I completely failed my first exam and the next exam is tomorrow. I feel insanely hopeless because I even go to office hours and one of my classmates tutor me, but without any guidance I do not even know how to start a problem at all . everyone says that practice problems helps a lot, i can’t remember any steps or correlation. im really bad at math and i mix up numbers and simple calculations.

I feel extremely stuck and disappointed in myself because I’ve been studying day and night and every day including the weekends, but it just seems like I don’t understand anything and my other classmates seem to understand better and study more effectively. this is my last business class that I need to take for my minor and I just don’t know what to do. I feel ashamed for not under but im putting in so much effort and the results came out to be failing exam scores after another.

does anyone have any resources I can refer to to understand the basic concepts? because my final exam is next week and my tutor won’t be available.

Our grade breakdown is 2 exams (2 exams OR one exam and the final) and homework
