Kid Friendly Hikes around Jay/Lake Placid?
I am staying with my sister, BIL and niece in a cabin in Jay this summer (a weekend in early July) and would like to plan at least one easy hike for us to do. My niece is 4 and has not really hiked before (she done nature walks and obviously general walks around the neighborhood and is a generally active kid), so I want to find something that is nice and easy, but with a good view at the end. My initial thought is Mt. Jo, but I was wondering if there are other better places to go? It does not have to be a mountain, my other thought is possibly Marcy Dam, but that doesn't have as nice a view.
I am an avid hiker, but my sister and BIL are not. My sister grew up hiking, so she has a respect for nature, just doesn't enjoy it as much. Not sure how much hiking BIL has done. I appreciate any and all feed back.
