I have a soft spot for Brookens in my California Angels save. Traded for him in 1982, had him from 82-88 and then traded for him in the 1990 off season to get him back. He's been part of 3 World Series teams, a solid 2B defensively, 1 time AL golden glove, AL all star and 1 time AL silver slugger. So at 38 I knew the day was coming where he would retire and I was surprised it was 2 games into the season...

Then a month later he ends his career tying his shoe....
