For its 96th release for free download, the label Culture Dub Records takes you into the Dub techno universe of New Zealand producer SUBSET, a style dear to pioneers of the genre such as the German duo Rhythm and Sound, with 6 high-quality new productions. “Roots & Rhythms” invites listeners on a deep and powerful musical journey, where frequencies are crafted with precision and care!

On “Roots & Rhythms”, SUBSET invites us on a warm Dub techno journey, a style pioneered in the mid-90s by Moritz von Oswald and Mark Ernestus under the name Rhythm and Sound. Across these six new productions, the frequencies are precise, the tones pure, with round basslines, flowing delays and reverbs on lush synth pads, sensual chords, and a groovy techno pulse that draws you into space.
