sapphic party in iloilo
attended the sapphic party last pride month, and here are my thoughts.
it was fun at first because i finally got to attend a party made for sapphics like me. i honestly felt comfortable knowing it was an all-girls event. considering there aren’t many spaces or events like this in iloilo, my friends and i were really excited to go.
not until… things happened lol.
as someone who parties pretty often (toma, what’s up, etc), i can honestly say i’ve never experienced anything like that. i get that some people were celebrating pride with their partners, and i have no issue with that at all. what made me uncomfortable was how some people were literally pressuring others to go home with them. i never expected to experience something like that, especially at an all-girls party.
tapos, ka kalat sang tanan. and i’m not even talking about the games. halos everywhere you look, grabe ang momolanay 😭 organizers, i hope you can do better next time because i’ve seen comments saying last year’s party was pretty much the same setup.
then, the space is big but grabe ang init.
i don’t want to sound like a party pooper because i have friends who organize parties too, and they’re able to keep things fun without letting it get that out of hand. no extreme pda or anything because, honestly, it kinda kills the vibe if you’re just trying to enjoy the event.
i know organizers can’t control every single person in the venue, and there will always be people who do whatever they want. but still… 🤢
personally, it’s not an experience i’d recommend. so much for iloilo’s only sapphic party.
