Kaneshiro feeding into Plotsagi

This might just seem like me hating on Isagi, but in all honesty, this right here is plot at its finest.

First, why did Hugo even accept this duel in the first place? Cause when you think about it, it’s contradictory. If Hugo’s philosophy is destiny through suitability, and Isagi is rebelling specifically to challenge Hugo to a battle of luck, what reason does he have to respect this challenge at all.

Second, Hugo is in his penalty box in the last minute of the game. Challenging this at all is extremely rash and illogical, which is the opposite of how he plays. It just feels like his defensive iq was nerfed at the end of the game just for this last minute evolution from Isagi.

Third, what reason does he have to gamble and pick a side for? Hugo is already close enough to recover if Isagi picked either side, instead he rushes in and makes a risky move that completely goes against how he plays.

To sum this up, it feels like Kaneshiro’s afraid of Isagi falling off cause why write a problem like Isagi’s pressure before the France game and him somehow not only come to a conclusion after just 80 minutes, but beat Hugo, the person reinforcing this problem in Isagi’s head.

What’s up with Kaneshiro when it comes to writing these characters? Especially this France game. They really just end up being in a weird place of being relevant, but irrelevant at the same time.
