Being moved away from friends in TAFE

Idk what I’m expecting from this post but this is just a little vent and question

So I’m a first year electrical apprentice currently about start my second semester in a couple weeks after a successful first semester. I’ve made friends along the way and we would always help each other when it came to exams preps or in class activities which is what helped us get through. Class would be way more enjoyable aswell

I’ve come to find out that my friends would be once again in the same class this upcoming sem EXCEPT me being the only to have a different time table on the same day. Meaning different teacher, different times and different class mates ect. I did find it abit weird that I was the odd one out and It does kinda sting and feel isolating but I guess it is what it is and I just need to get on with it. It just the thing is is these guys have become my main group of friends

I have considered requesting to switch classes but unsure if it will be allowed. Does anyone know?

Silver lining is that I get to be in the same class as my brother which is very good and we could help each other out easier. Just sucks to be the only one left out from my mates 🥲 it is what it is I guess, my priority is still to get my license

At what stage during your apprenticeship did things begin to click.

When did everything begin to click for you during your apprenticeship?

I’m a first year apprentice pushing second year in a few months- I work in commercial high rise. Throughout the first 7 months of my apprenticeship, my main tasks were mainly roughing in bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, lobby’s, and abit of units-along with other very basic tasks

It’s only been these last 3-4 months where I started to get more experience since moving job sites such as installing three phase boards , cable trays, running 3 phase cables, some other basic fittings like PowerPoints. I also recently began reading plans and passed my first TAFE block

I still feel really behind compared to the other apprentices at my company. There are some tasks I’ve never done as a 1st year such as downlight cuts outs and some other types of fittings like cameras or much LED or smoke. I did abit of switches but not enough to understand them fully, I’m still learning the concepts

I spoke to my supervisor about this and he’s keen to
Continue giving me more exposure but I still can’t help but feel like I’m very behind for an upcoming 2nd year which is giving me a lack of confidence considering I’m also not the fastest. I still rock up every day with a positive attitude and put myself outside my comfort zone and write the concepts of what I’m doing in my notes along with a To-do list for the next day
