Spark notes: EPB module and transfer case replaced under warranty at ~35k.

Couple days ago I was running errands. Parked came back out and when I stated my truck, the park brake light was on and the service park brake light was on. I tried to release it and the service light remained on and the park brake light started flashing. The park brake was indeed stuck on (truck wouldn’t move).

Left it overnight as the dealer wasn’t open. When I came back in the morning, the service light was off and the park brake released. I decided to still take it on and get it checked out.

Dealer scanned it and there was ~6 codes related to the park brake module. Dealer called a couple days later and told me the park module was bad and also found the transfer case was bad. During inspection they heard it making some concerning noise and upon further inspection found it to be “bad”. Interested to hear what they looked at or how they determined it to be bad.

Just wanted to share this in case someone else experiences something similar. Moral of the story, if something happens, take it in while you’re still under bumper to bumper. Had 700 miles left on mine and I almost kept driving since the issue seemed to resolved itself.

Is transfer case a common issue? Starting to wonder if I have a lemon.
