Hormonal causes rather than diet?
Hello!
I had my first gallbladder attack in November of last year. I've had one recently that sent me back to the ER, ended up being pancreatitis from gallstones, and now am going to a consultation soon for gallbladder removal surgery. I'm 21F.
I started taking a combo birth control pill around August/September last year. I have a family history of high estrogen/irregular hormones on my mom's side, gallbladder issues from my dad's.
I follow a vegan diet and, from my logged calories, typically don't follow a high fat diet. My attacks haven't really followed a high fat consumption, but rather align with ovulation or periods starting.
Of course, I'm going to speak with a doctor about this, and I have before, but it's been hard to get an answer. Has anyone else experienced this? Gallstones from hormones rather than diet?
