Stevens tuition increase question

I was wondering if anybody knows or has had any luck getting more financial aid to help combat the 4% tutiton increase every year. My current tuition bill for Steven's may be feasible for 2026-2027 but after that it starts to go up beyond what my family can afford.

I am currently an incommimg freshman at NJIT and going in as a BME major but i’m considering switching to EE, is it easy to switch later on at NJIT and giving myself more time to think about which i really want to do?

I am an incoming biomedical engineering major and I got an updated financial aid package from stevens where I would now need to pay 29k out of pocket while NJIT i would only pay 17k. My parents r helping me out but in total I would be at least 60k debt for stevens and 27k for NJIT. Additionally I am a heights resident so Its a much easier commute to stevens than NJIT (30 min with 1 bus vs 2 buses and 1 train). I also prefer the stevens campus, however the debt would be more than double. Do you think stevens is worth the extra debt and convenience over NJIT or should i suck up the commute?

Update: I ended up picking NJIT cause the commute is bearable enough and the price difference finally stuck to me. Thank you all for your help and insight
