Nesta gave Bryce a bored look, as if she should have already known the answer

Nesta gave Bryce a bored look, as if she should have already known the answer

Nesta picking up on something between Bryce and Azriel and saying Bryce should have already known is giving idiots to lovers and I am here for this. At the very least it adds to the idea Bryce is shoving away the hard truths about her time in Prythian. She knows it, we know it, and thank god for Nesta and her commentary. ‘Bryce should have already known’ and the ‘I’ve never seen him so fidgety.’ To deny there was something - something - between Bryce and Azriel, is just a lie. I appreciate how this sub looks at the grander picture because the last Crescent City read like a starting point to whatever’s coming in ACOTAR, Bryce being pretty significant to the journey.

Azriel extending his hand out is the last visual

Came across this image on Pinterest and still can’t believe this is basically the last visual we get for Azriel to Bryce. ‘Please’ he begs. Just like that, Bryce became integral to his story.

Bryce and Nesta

Another reason I’m not sold on this journey being quote over. The bonds they all create?- that’s a forever thing. Not only Bryce and Nesta. But you know what I mean, it’s important.

Feyre and Rhysand comment in Court of Silver Flames

I want to preface that I really like Feyre and Rhysand. But I stumbled on this line in ACOSF. Amren almost pushes and tells Rhysand to make himself King with the Made blades. I don’t know if Sjm will actually go the King or Queen route but it is brought up as a viable option to unite everyone together in what we can assume is an upcoming war. What stands out is how Rhysand, or Sjm speaking through him, says it is quote delusional- repeat, delusional, to believe Feyre would ever be Queen. Same for him as King. Amren backs off, but this was an interesting conversation. It undoubtedly paved the way for Bryce who actually is the born heir to both the last Queen and king. She even thinks it, how she carries these ties to their world. I really don’t know if Sjm will go that route but thought it was worth taking note. There’s a lot of downplaying the importance of Bryce. She isn’t a random alien stranger. She could be the key figure in their history and what’s coming next. If we are learning more about Theia and Fionn. The origins of her power. It could lead back to Bryce. Just like how I remember reading Throne of Glass and wondering if Aelin really would take up the mantle, because she was the heir after all. Bryce and Aelin are very similar. I don’t think we have seen the last of her.

The Horn, question

I went hunting for fanart of Bryce’s tattoo there aren’t that many and then I found this second image of Bryce that’s super badass. Question, how do you all see the Horn being used? Alongside the weapons that call to Bryce, isn’t the Horn a big clue on a platter that Bryce is fated for something more?

Bryce’s star, in a way, is like a compass

One of the most important instruments used for navigation. I apologize if this has been pointed out before by anyone else, but it just clicked for me that this is what Bryce’s star looks like.

Celaena, Music

Sheet music.

For the performance she’d seen last night. For the notes she couldn’t get out of her mind, even a day later.

‘She couldn’t help her smile.’ Ummm

Bryce hid her smile as she plays music and then Azriel hums her favorite song.

That’s not nothing. Music is objectively very important within the Maasverse. Re reading Assassin’s Blade and Sam found Celaena sheet music not even in circulation yet, after they visit the theater.

‘Celaena turned toward the stage as the music established the setting for them. A world of shadows and mist.’ Interesting.

She said the music is the most beautiful, the most exquisitely painful sound she has ever heard. It breaks her and puts her back together again. Just as Bryce describes it. When the music ends, Celaena says the silence is the worst thing she has ever heard. She is the last one to leave the theater.

Sam then catches her attempting to replicate the melody on the pianoforte, but she thinks it’s not quite right.

He brings her sheet music from the performance. Which she later plays with Rowan and shares a massive piece of herself with him.

It’s very fair to say people underestimate Bryce essentially doing the same. It is right there, and Sarah acting surprised about this theory makes it somewhat suspicious. Because the set up is right there. Hunt gives Bryce a pristine and new jelly jubilee that she loves, but this makes me wonder if the music..the music lingered with Azriel for good reason.

The Bryce hate

I get it that people feel like Bryce regressed. Or treated Hunt poorly. Or something somewhere felt off, be it between them or with Bryce and Hunt’s characters individually. There was a lot of room for Sarah to grow these two, and many feel she did not. What I love and really appreciate about this ship is the recognition of the whole Maasverse and how this does not exactly line up. The possibility of more to come.

I on a first read through did appreciate how at the very end, Bryce and Hunt seem to choose one another. But I’d be lying if I said a lot the critique doesn’t make it pretty clear there’s a lot of room - still - for growth. It would be cool if Bryce surprised everyone. All of the haters. Who reduce her to her phone and nails, which everyone here knows doesn’t stand to reason.

Anyway, all to say I hope something happens and we get to see Bryce again and she shocks them. And it wasn’t for naught.

‘You’ve been here this entire time?’ It made sense, she supposed. Rigelus’ words eddied through her head. An isle of near-permanent twilight. A land of Dusk. Where dark meets light and light meets dark and- “you’ve been here this whole time?”

All of those times she couldn’t look away from Ruhn’s shadows and starlight working together. As one. It captivated her, even when she didn’t know why. Light and dark and dark and light and- dusk.

Dusk’s Truth.

She understood it now. Amber eyes gleaming.

The room was cast in shadows, and Bryce reached for her star in an attempt to dim the emerging truths. Scarred hands gripped her wrists.

“Don’t.” In a low, chilling voice. Starlight danced along his scars. No more hiding.

“Your dagger-you-yanked me to your..my home world. Why? Why now?”

“I felt you.” His hands still on hers. His presence filled the entire room. “Broken and injured and screaming, I felt you. You were terrified. But merciless.” His lips kicked up at the corner. “I don’t know why, and I don’t care. The Mother has her reasons. Yes. I have been right here. And I have been waiting.”

She finally met the hazel eyes searing down at her.

“Seeing you, the blood and your pain.” He continued, “I knew I’d found you. Centuries of aimlessly searching in every wrong direction. And then there you were.”

“Here I am.”

“Bryce.”

She shivered. “Azriel.”

“We’re in for it, aren’t we.” Again, that smirk.

Bryce allowed herself to smile, and it was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen.

“Yes, I suppose we are.”

He was here. In the home world of the Fae. A land rich in magic. Perhaps the very magic she had been missing..she was in deep shit. But she understood it now, tracing the whorls of Azriel’s tattoos.

Perpetual twilight. It had always been leading to this. To the darkness that shapes her light.

Dusk’s Truth.

Not a writer by any means, just for fun. It’s easy with their potential. Images taken from Pinterest.
