"Painless" pain

I have times where I have what I call "full body retching" where my body kind of shudders but I'm not actually nauseous. I've been wondering if it's actually that I'm in so much pain that my brain isn't actually registering it, hence "painless" pain. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

GDAE

So I'm a basic mandolin player who bought a ukulele and tuned it GDAE so it would be easier on bad hands. Thing is, I'm finding myself frustrated. I feel like maybe I'm pigeon holed into blue grass and folk. Don't get me wrong, I love blue grass and folk! I'm just wondering if I tuned traditionally, or even with a low g, if it would open more genres and playing styles? Does anyone have some experience in this? TYIA

I just finished 2 panels that I'm planning on mattress/ladder hand sewing together to make a shawl. Unfortunately I somehow ended up with roughly a 1.5 inch difference in length. I wanted to keep the hand hemming and fringe on it. Is there a way I can re-hand hem the longer one off the loom? Or would they perhaps sew together ok without changing anything?
