Is architecture worth it? Advice for a 17-year-old considering pursuing architecture

Hi everyone! Basically the title. I’m feeling a bit upset because I genuinely love art and have done so much related to it, as well as architecture. I’ve written my personal statement, completed my portfolio, and everything is finally coming together, but I keep seeing stories about architects having terrible salaries and working incredibly long hours.

It’s honestly making me really confused about what to do. I see graduates with CS degrees getting paid $200k straight out of university, and then I look at architecture and wonder whether I’m making the wrong choice.

At the same time, I’ve already invested so much into architecture, and I genuinely enjoy the combination of creativity, design and technical work. It feels strange to suddenly consider giving all of that up for a completely different degree just because of the career prospects.

For those who studied architecture or are currently working in the field: is architecture actually worth it**?** How do you feel about the salary, workload and career opportunities compared with other fields?

Tips for Math AA HL EE

Hi, I’m struggling to find any free resources for my EE. Has anyone here already completed their EE in maths and would be willing to share any tips or sources they found useful? I’d especially appreciate recommendations for free digital libraries or databases, as I’m feeling a bit stuck at the moment

thanks

Do i have a chance of getting to Imperial

Hi everyone, i want to apply to design engineering at imperial but im not sure if i am a strong candidate and does it worth it.

I am an IB home contextual student having 42 predicted. I got all 7 in my HLs which are Math AA , art, and dt . and 766 in my sl which are business, english and spanish ab .

Im worried bc i dont take physics so they might view my application as not competitive.

For my extracurriculars, I did 2 internships in architecture and structural engineering firm , and 2 work experiences in construction firms. also, i have a very strong art background as i am very creative and won numerous amount of competitions including essay competitions on architecture. I like math annd a member of an advanced math team in my school ( we are participating in math competitions :) ) and outside of school i enjoy learning linguistics and earned numerous awards in this aswell. Also, i think to do a short summer school course for engineering if i will decide to apply to imperial.

I wanted to do architecture first, but working in the architecture internship firm made me feel rly upset bc i realised that this is not wha i like to do.
Anyways, during my IB math course i realised how much i enjoy doing math aswell and that i want a career somwhere where math and art meet which is imperial des eng.

I’m really upset that i just now realised that i dont like architecture and not sure what to do.

I can’t afford to take a gap year , so i decided to apply to unis that offer architectural eng and don’t have physcis as a requirement

so yeah right now i want to write my personal statement and i am rly not sure what to do. should i go back to applying to be an architect or try imperial i don’t know.

please can someone help me please i dont want to waste time but id what to do
