Has anyone tried or used b12 patches with any sucess?

Wondering about this as a friend uses patches 200 mcg and surprisingly has high serum b12 levels

Patches are not mentioned on here

Question being.do they actually get stored in the liver....will people with storage issues not be able to retain the b12 in active form

All I know up to now is they are slow releasse

Into bloodstream

Potemteally useful as regards injections ?

Or even a replacement for them when levels are stable

There is not much info on them it seems

If nicotine patches hrt etc work b12 patches potentially do also

I did not know that other vitamins can be used in patch form too

Is stress indeed a b12 drainer?

Posted something today as regards stress directly lowering b 12 levels

I suspected this because during extremely stressful periods I experienced crashes....like m..s flare ups increased symptoms and increased fatigue etc

Does anyone else recognise a worsening of symptoms during stressful times etc

Is therefore supplimentaionxa good idea during these times

Sort of relapses due to drop in b12 due to stress.?

I suppose as b12 is the charger so to speak ..maybe that's the mechanism?

I'd love other people's opinions on this.

Also as coping with b12 d3ficiency symptoms and coping with drs and diagnosis stressful...vicious circle?

This says it all really as regards b12.,it seems indeed to be poor clinical jugment

It is clear that nothing is going to change unless the inadequate levels. Are changed and the useless b12 serum test is replaced by active b12 test etc.

Drs will have to abide by this then saving much suffering.

This actually says if patients are experiencing debilitating fatigue neuro symptoms cognitive symptoms some patients need higher levels etc..and this should be taken into account rather than the range.

Drs are clearly doing people a disservice.

Can't see the bigger picture....just what's in front of them

This is vety useful I find

Says diagnosis is challenging

Vitamin c the missing link?

Hi all,

I really think that i owe it to community to post this.

Yesterday I posted as regards vit c and nerve healing.

In my experience vit c actually did cause and start repair of damage after flare ups crashes causing new and worsening symptoms!

I did not know what was wrong at the time due to my low levels b12 being classed as normal!

For some reason after infections particularly after a course of antibiotics. I got worsening symptoms and new symptoms prob due to the extra demand on b12?does anyone else get that?

Was tested for m.s. at time.

After I recovered from energy crashes, flat battery haha I noticed vitamin c caused zips zaps..twitching etc and I regained and repaired for example left leg foot ankle strength.

I think it helps with nerve repair restoration and is another cofactor that is very important for nerve repair

It also vital for energy production too and enhances iron absorption

I took around 500 mg per day

As the damage worsened b12 it did not work as well but along with raising b12 levels....

Possibly it can only enhance recovery?

Low ferritin after taking methycobalamine

Advice please

I started taking methylcobalamine 2 mths ago 1000mcg

No side effects for that period.

Then suddenly pounding heart shaky, adrenaline rushes etc.

I looked on here and it fitted overmethylatopn but surely that would occur from the start? then I thought that it was wake up symptoms.

Something feltcreally off though and intuitively looked about ferreting being used up at a a rate of knots during suppimentation!

Dropped levels etc.

As my ferritin was around 13 ...classed as ok uk...I stared taking 6o mg ferrous glycinate 2 wks ago.

I am literally scared if restarting supplementation b12

As it was scary expetience

Any advice on this?

Is ferritin low the likely cause

My bood level of b12 had risen so the methylcobalamine was working.

Also does this active form store in the liver?

If it was overmethylation

Is that a good thing

I have not tested for the gene as regards intolerance to methyl

Also injections also drain ferritin?
