Just speaking as a mid-late game player (so take it with a grain of salt) the idea of a limited rod is not a fun concept because it kills the flow of progression, it changes the rod progression from a-b-c-d, to (a+e+d)-c-e. It also forces you to do some quests that are too grind or you just dont like it, making it feel like a sludge to get through to the next step. And then once you gotten to the point where you can do the quests because you have the rods required, its cycled on to the next, and by the time you gotten to the point where you already have all the rods required for the current one, you already have masterline. Im not saying they should be removed altogether, but a way to get them after they are out, maybe they get cycled through or they dont require other rods to get them if you still want the exclusivity. Then again, I am still a little before the point i can get them and this is purely from a spectators point of view
