General beginner advice needed
Hello all, this is my first post here but just looking for some general advice.
Some context: I’m not completely new to sports betting, I’ve done around 7 welcome promo hedges/conversions already and made some pretty solid profit from that. I understand the fundementals of how to properly hedge. What I have not actually done yet is true arbitrage betting between books. I am living in BC, Canada, so there aren’t a ton of sportsbooks available here. Because of that, I’m also using a couple friends accounts as well as my own. Altogether I have around 10 accounts across different books, and every account is still relatively fresh, they’ve only been used once for the welcome promo/bonus conversions and nothing else.
I have a $3,000 total bankroll to start with, and I am not worried about longevity. I wanna be as aggressive as possible with arbing over the next couple weeks before inevitably getting limited/gubbed on all my own and my friends accounts. I understand the basic concept mathematically, but I’m looking for practical beginner advice from people who have actually done this successfully.
The main things I’m trying to learn are:
Which arb/odds tracking software or sites are actually worth using
How people efficiently execute arbs before lines move
Common beginner mistakes
Biggest risks (partial fills, voids, line movement, limits, and anything else.)
Best markets/sports for beginners
What NOT to do if I want to maximize short-term profit
How people manage bankroll distribution across books
Whether live arbing is worth it or just a fast way to get burned/limited
I work a regular job so I’m trying to figure out what’s realistically achievable while grinding hard every second outside of my work hours over thr next few weeks. Any advice is appreciated, thank you for reading :)
