By the way this subreddit talks about construction management as a career, I feel a little discouraged and worried about graduating and breaking into the field. Without stating any negatives about construction management, give me some positives/why you love this industry.
I am a incoming sophomore who is majoring in construction management. One thing that many employers at my career fairs suggest the idea of getting a construction labor job in the summer, as it would be ideal to gain field experience and learn more about the ways of construction. I have been searching for construction labor jobs for the past 3 weeks and have had no luck with indeed, ZipRecruiter, or LinkedIn. I also don’t have any connections so far so that isn’t an option either. Does anybody have suggestions or ideas on how I can get my foot in the door? I feel like a labor job would help my resume so I can land an internship after my sophomore year.
