Long ago, during the earliest age of The Heian Era, lived an old fable, a legend of a witch, one who spread Death and Rot. Saint Rose, or known by her given name, Aku, was born to a noble family, one who's hubris was as tall as mountains, and vast as oceans. They obsessed over power and perfection, doing whatever it took to obtain it.

But, one day, the Monarch of The Family had bore their fourth daughter, Aku. But, unlike them, she was born with a birthmark, one as red and burning as fire. This anger the family, seeing their newborn as this, oni, a curse to the family. Aku grew up in a harsh and demanding home, getting treated like nothing but an animal, while her sisters and brothers were treated with the highest of respect. Soon, when she was of age, something happened. A strange power awaken in her, one that gave her control over life and death. Her power were unknown to her family, but learned it the hard way, when Aku accidentally drained the life out of her eldest sister on accident, when she was teasing her. This brought them great fear into them, the runt of their family having such powerful abilities. As a result, Aku was tied under a tree, and beaten for killing another of her family. She believed herself to be a burden, a failure to her family. That was, until someone saved her, took her away from thay dark place, that being Daylily.
