I didn't have english literature classes in school, unfortunately. So I feel like I'm a bit stunted when it comes to analyzing a text. I can comprehend texts well; I understand what the writer has written, but I find it hard to glean stuff beneath the surface (for example: identifying metaphors and trying to read between the lines). Even when I do manage to analyze something, I feel like it is very surface-level. How do I train my brain to analyze texts? ​
