Do I get more points from event escort if I use cards relevant to the char I’m doing a route for? So if I’m doing Jude route use Jude cards or does it not matter lol

Does skipping the escorts make it where your chances of getting the surprise bonus are lower or higher or no effect?
I haven’t skipped any of the escort animation things because I’m worried I won’t get the bonus lol. Can I still get it if I click skip?
