American teen who may study abroad for a year in Argentina. Is it a good idea? What should I expect?

Hi, I'm a 16 year old American girl who's joining the AFS USA program to study abroad for a school year and one option that's available is Argentina. Honestly know next to nothing about your country beyond the fact you guys speak spanish and as such I'm kinda interested, it might be very cool ngl. Not saying I'll pick it but it's different than the usual choices kids here often choose when given this chance, so thought I'd ask the locals if it's a good idea? Is it safe? How do they view American students studying there? What should I expect? It would be a different experience at least so I'm considering it
