Need reassurance from floor bed parents because I’m panicking a bit

Having deliberated for months about how to transition my (now 10-month-old) baby into a safer sleep setup, we’ve recently moved from co-sleeping in our bed to a floor bed.
I’m a first-time mum and had fully planned for my baby to sleep in a cot from birth, but very quickly realised that co-sleeping was the only way any of us were getting any sleep. We’ve tried many times to get her into a cot, but it’s never worked for us, and I don’t want to do any cry-it-out sleep training.
Recently she started rolling a lot in her sleep, which made me too anxious to continue sleeping in our bed, so we switched to a simple floor bed, currently just a firm IKEA mattress on the floor (20cm high).
I thought it would solve my worries, but now I’m just anxious that she’s going to roll off and hit her head on the floor.
I’ve seen foldable crash pads and thick foam mats you can buy, but the room is already cramped and they seem expensive, especially if we’d need them around multiple sides of the bed.
Am I missing something here? What does everyone else do? Do babies actually fall out often, or do they somehow learn where the edge is?
For context, I still sleep next to her, but I’d eventually like to transition away from that.
Now I feel like I can’t sleep because I’m so worried she’ll fall and hurt herself. I've read that pool noodles/bumpers under the sheets are a hazard, and pillows around the bed seem unsafe too.
I’ve also wondered whether one of those large memory foam-style rugs might help cushion the floor a bit? Would that be a sensible option?
Would really appreciate hearing what others do because I feel like I’m overthinking it!
