Anyhow, the flying fish can stay airborne up to 45 seconds, which is kinda impressive if you think about it.

did you know the flying fish’s scientific name, “exocoetidae” translates from ancient Greek to "sleeping outside". Reason for that being observers who coined the term after mistakenly believing these fish left the water at night to sleep on dry land, for some reason
