the way people talk about glp-1s on social media right now is wild

I keep seeing all these TikToks and wellness people talking about GLP-1s like they are just some new daily vitamin you should start taking. I take Mounjaro myself and I promise this is real medicine that actually changes things in your body, it is not just some internet hack. Treating these meds like a new trend is just going to make people misuse them and mess themselves up. Have you guys been seeing this stuff too? It feels like people forget these are actual meds for real health problems.

It feels like society thinks weight loss on a GLP-1 does not count because you are not miserable

I take 1.7mg of Semaglutide every week, and the negative reactions I get from people seem completely based on this idea that weight loss only counts if it is miserable. It is like they think shedding fat has to be a slow, painful grind to actually be real. If the process is manageable and you are not starving or suffering the entire time, people treat it like you are doing something wrong. I just do not understand why everyone is so fixed on the idea that you have to punish yourself to get healthier.

Anyone start glp1s after getting old or is it just too late for me?

Turned 62 this week and had my annual physical. Doc hit me with the hard numbers my BMI is sitting at 37 right now.

I have fought my weight pretty much my entire life, but my metabolism is completely dead at this age. Just trying to eat clean and walk isn't cutting it for the 50lbs I actually need to drop. My doctor brought up trying a GLP-1 and I am definitely thinking about it, but honestly the side effects freak me out a bit. I am the type of guy who avoids taking so much as an ibuprofen unless I absolutely have to, so going on a heavy prescription is a big jump for me.

For the older crowd on here, did any of you start taking these in your 60s? How rough was the adjustment period for your body?

still haven't recovered from a sarm cycle after nearly a year. anyone else?

I stopped taking SARMs a long time ago and I still have not recovered at all. I am dealing with a bunch of brutal symptoms that will not go away, including bad brain fog, zero appetite, prostate pain, severe anxiety, and hair loss.

I am currently seeing an endocrinologist to get professional help, but I wanted to check if anyone here has gone through something similar. Any ideas on what might be going wrong or how to get things back to normal?

It makes zero sense bc why are doctors still pushing bariatric surgery when people are losing over 100 pounds on GLP1s

Are doctors just biased or are they not up to date on how well these medications work? I have around 100 pounds to lose and I am looking into both options. I have been taking a glp-1 for about a month now, but I keep seeing medical professionals claim that bariatric surgery is still the absolute best choice. They always mention that the side effects of peptides are too hard for most people to handle and that you only lose a small percentage of your total weight. The thing is, I have been reading through all the different subreddits and I constantly see people dropping 80 to 150 pounds just by using these injections. It seems like the medication works just as well as the surgery. I am trying to figure out why doctors still push the surgical route so hard. What do you all think about this?

doctors are claiming bpc causes cancer and is too dangerous for use. im not sure what to believe here

I have seen a few people mention this before, but I just listened to a podcast where a doctor said taking BPC and TB-500 is dangerous because they can actually speed up tumor growth. What does everyone think about this?

She claimed BPC failed its first FDA test a really long time ago for this exact reason and they thought it was too risky to ever test again. I am really curious to see what you guys think about these claims and if anyone has looked deep into the research on it.

is the muscle loss on glp1s actually the meds or are guys just realizing they didnt have as much muscle under the fat as they thought?

i keep seeing guys panic about how they lost 50lbs on tirz but the compound ate all their muscle mass. im starting to wonder if the meds are actually destroying muscle or if guys are just getting a massive reality check.

when you push high calories and lift heavy for years, you get big and you look huge in a shirt. you convince yourself theres an insane physique hiding under the fat layer. then the glp strips all the fat away and u realize you just never had the mass you thought you did.

obviously if u stop lifting and eat zero protein you will shrink. but i really feel like a lot of guys just used their bulk as an excuse to carry extra weight and are blaming the peptide when the mirror finally shows the bare minimum truth.

The absolute embarrassment of having to ask my gym partner to pin my glutes because I cannot reach properly

I normally rotate my injection sites without any issues, but I started running a new compound and my shoulders and quads are completely wrecked right now. I decided to move to my glutes to give my other spots a break, but I quickly realized I am way too stiff to actually reach around and handle the syringe myself. I literally had to swallow my pride and ask my training partner to do it for me in the locker room bathroom after our session. Standing there facing the wall with my pants pulled down while another grown man carefully aims a needle into my upper cheek is probably the lowest point of my entire lifting career. We awkwardly stayed quiet the entire time and neither of us has brought it up since. I am seriously debating just dealing with the quad pain next time because I am never doing that again.

Am i literally just too far gone for glp1s to work for me?

Am I just too far gone for GLPs to actually work for me? I have dropped some weight on tirzepatide, but my progress feels incredibly slow compared to the crazy results everyone else posts here. Right after my shot I am totally fine and eating clean is easy. But right before my next dose, everything just falls apart. The food noise comes back so hard and I always end up caving. I will order a massive amount of takeout and completely derail whatever progress I made. This constant cycle makes me feel like these compounds alone are not enough to fix how my brain works. I see people on here dropping weight with zero effort. Do I just need to get strict and force some discipline, or is it actually possible my eating habits are just way too broken for peptides to help?

What actually happens to fast food chains if millions of people stay on these meds (GLP1s) forever?

I am just thinking about the massive ripple effect this is going to have on the economy. Right now, entire industries are built around people overeating and buying junk food. Think about the snack aisles in grocery stores or the massive portion sizes at fast food chains. If a huge chunk of the population just stops craving heavy meals and sugar because they are on these shots, what happens to those businesses? Do restaurants just start offering way smaller portions to survive? Do junk food brands start going bankrupt? It seems like a huge shift is coming and nobody is really talking about the business side of it.

i finally spent some time looking in the discord group on how people actually source reta and realized i’ve been getting absolutely fcked on prices. i was buying single vials instead of a full kit and once you see the math it is actually painful. the markup on individual vials is a complete joke and it makes zero sense why anyone would go that route if they knew better. i’m just glad i finally figured it out before i threw even more cash down the drain on those single vial scams, literally saved so much money just by kitting up.
