reading childrens books to learn russian

so my russian is like A1-A2 and i borrowed 2 childrens books that are for elementary school kids ,and right now i can read it kinda smoothly but there are so many words i dont know and i dont get the storyline most of the time lol i cant tell if they are being poetic or explaining something

so what is the most effective way to read them so i can get the maximum effect from these books?

vent

so i (17F) have my blok exam tomorrow and idk i just wanted to vent,so my high school years are over now brooo it was so badddddddddd like i didnt expect it to be this lame and just un enjoyable.i mean i should ve actually cause i live in a suburb city wtf i was expecting but still i had hopes and shit. i never genuinely liked the people i was surrounded by and i was always in this "oh sure its gonna get better next year and i will have actual friends "and now it ended and none of that happened. i also have severe OCD ,it started in 6th grade, this year i experienced it to the peak,im slowly learning how to handle it,but its so stressfull .im stressed like all the fucking time, like there not been a single time that i walked home from school and didnt have a depressing thought.i have always been the "mature" child. and i feel like im stuck in a child's body for years. i also always went to courses with people who are older than me and this (11th grade ) is the only year in my life that im stuck w my own fucko generation (cause there is no older anymore im the one whos old now). and it sucks actually, none of them are impressive in any way. i mean i wouldn't say im a very talented and amazing person but idk man. im just disappointed. in myself . anyways that was it i might delete it later cause i forgot to mention that im also a very insecure person and might overthink this and get stressed and who wants to get stressed over a post sorry if i sounded childish in any of the things i wrote my writing and talking skills are also very bad which is also something thats killing me okay thank u bye
