First actual level and this is only the first 7 seconds. I'm starting to hate society.

Just thought of an ideal GD processing system for lag reduction.

So, as editors we all know a really annoying thing is to optimize each block so a level can be performance friendly. That's because each block is treated as a different unit and then system have to process hundreds of units every second while the level runs.

As a sound designer, the two most popular options to export a project into are WAV and MP3. What's the difference? A WAV file might be 35mb heavy while the same MP3 file compresses everything, sounds 99.999% identical and needs the 1/10 of space, let's say around 3mb in the this case.

So here the idea:

What if there was an exporting system that turned a level of 50k blocks into three single layers: triggers, collision/touch behaviour and image. So when the level was uploaded publicly the players wouldn't run the platform version but a compressed one that feels exactly the same but it's only meant to be played. Besicslly what it does is treating the level as a big image and only keep treating separately the colission effects and the triggers.

In editor mode you would still have the normal version but if the editor wanted to test the compressed version they would be given the option to export their level in a personal test room where the level would be treated exactly the same as it would in a public upload.

And since the code already knows what blocks have collision and how each trigger interact with the player it wouldn't be a big deal.

I'm not a programmer, at least not a professional. I just thought this would make sense and it would make the game much lighter and potato device friendly. What do you think?

Finished layout. Testers needed. ID: 146944245 (details bellow)

Finally, the full thing is ready after 1,5 week. I need to make sure layout is 100% fine before I start cooking some decorations. That's why I need you to give me some feedback:

• Rate fun from 0-10

• Rate difficulty (I would go for an easy demon)

• Did you die to any bugs?

• Is it balanced?

• Is the sync good?

• Noticed something you dislike? (I hope not the whole level lol)

Every feedback is much much appreciated and I'm open to discussion!

Just created this fire deck. Tested it on 5 games, won all of them (12500 trophies)

First of all, let's make something clear. I'm a veteran, 12500 is probably not my real arena, I just haven't played in a while and now new arenas have been added. I don't know how important is this but I still need to say it.

Now for the deck. Basically I have found no counter yet. It gives you a really quick cycle with perfect defenses. Like 2.6 hog but instead you cycle for Evo Tesla and Evo mortar. Tell me the cringe broken metas and I'll give you a counter. Lumberloon? Mega knight? Hog rider? Golem? Pekka? I have beated all of them so far.

UPDATE: Won a few more and lost 3-4 games too. The 3 of them could have gone better. The last one had electro giant and goblin barrel and I barely scratched his tower. Witch also becomes a problem if you don't use mortar for defense.

Can't screen record because of potato phone so I uploaded for feedback. Can you play and tell me if it's unbalanced? ID:146511823

Found this gem song, too bored to do it myself.

I found the song on Instagram and DEMANDED WITH HEART AND RAGE for the song to be available for GD in the comments. The artist said it has been released on Newgrounds as well and I say oh here we go.

I'm visualizing this as a futuristic easy/medium demon with a lot of beat/gameplay sync. The song has a "glitched effect" (Gross beat) that is repeated over and over and I think it could be a great idea to add some glitched gameplay.

I'm still learning designing. I can do some dope work (that's just my opinion lol) if I lock in but generally that's not my style of working. I have a very slow rhythm, maybe that's gonna be a problem to you if you decide to partner me up. I have also not done a collab before.

The song is named SPARK - by ZEXSING, you can check it out in... Many platforms (I don't remember them but they are a lot. Just pick a random popular one and it will probably be there).

Could you always make mutually exclusive coin paths in Geometry Dash?

I have started playing GD again recently and I noticed something. As an editor you are allowed to collect each coin in a separate attempt to be able to upload the level. This means that a level can be impossible for the user to collect all coins in a single run (if for example there are two paths and each one provides only one coin). Back then I remember having to collect all the coins in one attempt to upload a level, exactly to prevent this from happening. Is this a 2.2 change or has it always been like that and I just remember wrong?

I'm losing my mind

Edit: SOLVED! Link Visible wasn't working properly in a slightly older version of GD. I edited the level again in the newest version and the target ID was saved properly.

I'm making a background that has layers from B5 to B3. I have adjusted every z order so nothing is mixed up. At some specific moments, some objects of the background glitch, disappearing for milliseconds and reappearing. When this happens the objects are always at the edge of my screen. It happens not only during gameplay but even in editor mode when I'm simply navigating around. I tried to use a Link Visible trigger. I set the group ID for background to 20, set the target ID for trigger to 20 and it worked fine. But for some reason, whenever I save the level and exit the target ID of the trigger is not being saved. I get back to editor and the target ID is set back to 0. This happens again and again and the background problem keeps existing. What should I do?

Guess who actually built it haters >:)

A first look on my first attempt ever to make deco. And oh my god it's tiring! I know it's still needs a background but I'm not mentally prepared for it yet. I would still love to hear if you got any ideas about adding or fixing something.

Trying to make blocks like these

Image is AI generated, I used it for inspiration. I'm trying to make some Egyptian style design and I thought that this looks neat! There is one problem. I'm completely trash. How realistic are my hopes? Should I still give it a try with the possibility to just be looking at my screen without doing anything for 2 hours straight? And do you have any tips?

Edit: Why did I get an AI promotion warning? Is the post filter engine jealous or sth?

Is there such a thing as a color pallete?

So, I was never a level designer because I never wanted to spend so many time to learn that huge Bible of editing that has been evolving for all those years. I recently made a cool as hell layout and I wanna give editing another chance. A problem I faced really soon is how do you make arts and paste them into your level while also keeping the colors (since the editor clipboard only saves the objects). I asked chatgpt and it kinda snitched on you. It says that you guys are using a specific level as a color pallete which you copy and build every level on it so all the levels share the same colors.

And the question is: If that's true, where do I find one myself? Do I find one online in gd? Do I beg you guys to give me one of yours? Or do I have to make one myself from absolute zero? Because a detailed one sounds like a pain in the butt to make 😮‍💨

And if it's not true, how do you guys usually deal with the colors yourself?
