Is anyone who works at a large thrift store (like Value Village) able to answer how much donated stuff is sent to the trash? And I don't mean gross soiled, unsellable things, but good quality items that there simply isn't room for, or that hasn't sold within a certain period of time?

I've been trying to donate my kids clothing on local Buy Nothing groups rather than sending it to Value Village as I've been under the impression that most of it will be shipped off to a landfill, but am I wrong (I would like to be!)? TIA!
