What moved the needle during your job search?
Starting job search and boy am I rusty at this. If you’re going through this now or has been recently, what do you think made you stand out?

Tried to publish it in tech sales but they wouldn’t let me) I’m sure a lot of you folks are in tech sales. I’d very much welcome your view.
I’m in technical product marketing in blockchain - stablecoins, tokenization, all that stuff. I used to be in b2b sales but not tech (distribution). I have a very specific question about transitioning from blockchain into big tech, marketing to sales.
Sick and tired of marketing, feel like it’s just a waste. In my org it definitely is - sales are working so hard to land new clients and keep them happy, and marketing is just like a bunch of clowns at the finish line.
So, I’m taking the time to reinvent myself and get into tech sales. Within my org it’s just dangerous - a revolving door and most sales people don’t last beyond one year. I’d much rather take these 6 months to apply for new jobs.
Here’s my thinking on the best avenues to get into tech sales (based on 3 months of deep thinking and several conversations with ChatGpt and Claude). Please weigh in:
My hard constraint is cold outreach. I can’t for the life of me just do cold calling. Strategic prospecting - any time, account management- any time, narrative packaging, turning deep technical concept into a business proposition - any time, but cold calls or public evangelism are a hard no for me (hence series C+ mention, any time earlier than that it’s all about events, public speaking, and cold calling).
Probably worth noting that through my network I can get a few decent introductions into data sales in fintech (major stock exchanges, data providers), hedge funds (some influential friends will be willing to actively vouch for me).
