Are there any patient scenarios that were pretty unrealistic?

I just finished both seasons, and overall, I really enjoyed it! It started out feeling very forced, but I quickly kept wanting to see the next episode. I’ve actually worked in an ER before as registration and admitting clerk, so while some storylines felt very familiar and like I almost knew what to predict, others felt a little unrealistic. Most notably the man who came in and was diagnosed with sepsis, intubated, maxed out on the highest vent setting, and finally his kids agreed to take him off and let him pass…despite his medical record stating he did not want that. I believe the doctor also told his kids that he may even be able to talk once he was extubated. For anyone with clinical knowledge…does this seem realistic? Would a hospital ever put someone on a life preserving machine when their medical record states they don’t want that? Would a person be able to speak to their family in their final moments if the vent was no longer able to help them? Can this whole process actually happen in a fraction of a 12 hour shift?

Does this look like Foliculitis? My derm appt is still over 2 months away.

I have had this on my scalp for several months. It appeared after a family member passed away after an unexpected month long hospital stay and I’ve just been really stressed/depressed. I have tried salicylic acid shampoo and I feel like it gets smaller, but then it seems like it fills back up. It hasn’t gotten any bigger than this. Will be a little tender if I press on it a lot. It did partially drain once when I was picking it and what came out was clear, no smell, and then a little blood at the end. I really want to get my hair highlighted again soon, but don’t know what to do or other products to try to make this go away.
