Lift recliner helpful or not worth it?

For those that had a laparascopic hysterectomy, was it difficult getting in and out of bed? Would a lift recliner chair be helpful while recovering? Or did you have one and were glad you did?

I see some women saying how difficult it was to get in and out of bed, and/or sleeping in a bed was uncomfortable initially.

I'm trying to decide if it would be good to get a lift recliner. The hubs thinks we should. He said it was a lifesaver when he had one of his surgeries, but we don't have the lift recliner anymore. And it's hard for me to justify getting one for short term use ... although my hubs said we'll just keep this one in case it's ever needed again in the future.

I'm not scheduled yet for my surgery ... it's supposed to be done robotic laparascopic ... uterus, cervix, tubes and ovaries removed.

For those that had a hysterectomy ... using CBD for inflammation questions

For those that have had a hysterectomy:

Did anyone use CBD with or without THC for inflammation and/or pain management post hysterectomy? If so, did it work to manage inflammation and pain? Any feedback would be helpful.

I haven't had my hysterectomy yet, but I'm looking for alternatives to control and manage inflammation. I cannot take ibuprofen (or any NSAID's). I can take tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain but it doesn't help with inflammation. And I really don't want to have to take pain meds (opioids) beyond the first few days ... and if I can get away with it, I won't take them at all. The plan is robotic laparascopic full hysterectomy with BSO ... so, everything out.

I will be asking my doc about this too but wanted to hear from those that used it successfully post-op. Thanks

Anyone post-meno with fibroids still causing issues?

Are there any post-meno women NOT on hormone therapy with fibroids that didn't shrink after menopause? And the fibroids continued to grow and cause issues?

For those that were on bhrt prior to hysterectomy and had ovaries removed as well ...

Hoping for some feedback from those that have had a total hysterectomy with bilateral oophorectomy AFTER starting bhrt and your levels were already optimized with your bhrt protocol prior to your hysterectomy:

  1. Once your ovaries were removed, did you have to make any adjustments to your bhrt protocol? Or were your ovaries pretty much kaput and no longer pumping out any significant amount of hormones prior to removal? Did you feel any kind of shift? Or did your current bhrt protocol continue to work with no adjustments post hysterectomy? I'm pretty sure my ovaries are no longer producing hormones but I started bhrt while I was still in peri and I never went throught menopause. But I'm pretty sure if I stopped bhrt, I would be post-meno by now.

  2. Other than hormone production, I can't think of any reason to keep ovaries. So, if post-meno, seems to me it would just be best to remove ovaries along with uterus if getting a hysterectomy? Just want to make sure I'm not missing something. Seems to me it would be best to remove for ovarian cancer prevention.

I'm 57 years old. Been on bhrt for just over 6 years and have been optimal from almost the beginning. Started bhrt when I was quickly headed into meno but was still in peri and getting irregular periods and some of the usual peri symptoms. Will likely be getting a total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy due to enlarged uterus and fibroids. Docs have been trying to get me to get a hysterectomy for many years ... even prior to starting bhrt. I had fibroids prior to starting bhrt. And I believe it's time now. I'm not happy about it, but I do feel it's time. I understood when I started bhrt that this could be a possibility and that my fibroids could grow.

Thanks
