I'm learning bobbin lace and made my own pattern :)

I did tweak a couple things as I went (the main one being the direction of the cloth stitch at the toe) and I have to improve on some things, but I'm honestly thrilled! I started learning about a week ago and I guess I wanted to challenge myself in all the ways at once.

Very open to feedback! Things I am aware of and will improve on:

  • I used threads of different thicknesses because they're what I had at home. This was my first project with color and I didn't realize until I was too far in
  • The shoelaces on top look honestly pretty shoddy, I think I need to add more twists in
  • I did almost all the dark green before doing the medium green or the navy, and if/when I go again I think it makes more sense to do it all together rather than awkwardly weave new threads in later
  • I saw some comments in other threads about putting your pins in at an angle. I'm curious how this applies to projects like this one where I had to rotate my pillow as I went, so the angle would suddenly be pointing at me instead of away from me

Thank you for any comments!

So in my region everyone calls the CRG Scoreboard "Carolina." I figure it must have been related to the (league formerly known as) Carolina Rollergirls at some point, as that name does pop up in the code every now and then.

My question is twofold, I guess:

  1. Why is it "CRG" now? Is it okay to call it Carolina? Do other people call it Carolina?
  2. Is there somewhere I can read up on its history, I guess? I know about the wiki on github, but I guess I want to know more. Like how did it become the go-to derby software, what were teams doing until it came around? When was it actually stable, like, how usable was it in the early years? What was the link between the scoreboard and the Carolina Rollergirls?

Thanks for any wisdom/history lessons, y'all!

Edit: clarified that I'm asking about the scoreboard program, not about the league formerly known as CRG and currently known as CRD/Carolina Roller Derby
