I'm learning bobbin lace and made my own pattern :)
I did tweak a couple things as I went (the main one being the direction of the cloth stitch at the toe) and I have to improve on some things, but I'm honestly thrilled! I started learning about a week ago and I guess I wanted to challenge myself in all the ways at once.
Very open to feedback! Things I am aware of and will improve on:
- I used threads of different thicknesses because they're what I had at home. This was my first project with color and I didn't realize until I was too far in
- The shoelaces on top look honestly pretty shoddy, I think I need to add more twists in
- I did almost all the dark green before doing the medium green or the navy, and if/when I go again I think it makes more sense to do it all together rather than awkwardly weave new threads in later
- I saw some comments in other threads about putting your pins in at an angle. I'm curious how this applies to projects like this one where I had to rotate my pillow as I went, so the angle would suddenly be pointing at me instead of away from me
Thank you for any comments!
