Skin Issues
Hi Westie peeps! Looking for opinions on my boy’s skin. He is 2 years old and this spring was the first time his allergies got pretty bad. Lots of itching and licking his paws. He also started to get some crusty spots and some hair loss. He has been on Cytopoint for the past year about every 8 weeks but once spring kicked up he was still having allergy symptoms. I got the duoxo s3 shampoo and mousse which I do think helped soothe things when he was very irritated. I try my best to keep him clean but we have a huge fenced in yard that he loves being out in all day so Ive resorted to brushing him out, wiping his paws, and bathing weekly.
He just got another Cytopoint shot 3 days ago and I was hoping that would calm down his skin but he still is pinkish around his groin and has crusties. He is itching less but I’m wondering if he might have a skin infection or something? I have a vet appointment on Thursday but wanted to hear from y’all as well.
