Guys, I just had a random thought about something that could actually be really cool for the gaming industry.

In movies and web series, we have character cameos and crossovers all the time. Like, an actor can play a character in one franchise and then appear in another franchise too. So why don't games do something similar?

Example, take Arthur Morgan, his story in RDR2 ended and that's it. I'm not saying Rockstar should somehow undo that or bring him back and ruin the story. I'm talking about a completely separate game and story. Likee, imagine Rockstar partnered with another company and licensed Arthur Morgan as a crossover character, let's say, Sony could partner with Rockstar and get the rights to use Arthur in one of their games. Arthur could've a completely different role and story there maybe even a detective role or something totally unrelated to RDR2.

Basically, Arthur's story in RDR2 would remain completely untouched. He'd just be appearing as a licensed character in another game's universe, kinda like how movie characters/actors can cross over between different franchises.

Obviously, there would be a lot of licensing and creative-control issues, but if companies handled it properly, I genuinely think this could be an awesome concept.

Would you guys actually want something like this, or do you think game characters should stay exclusive to their own franchises?
