Looking for some more casual recommendations

Hey there,

I'm in town with some friends for the F1 again this week and looking for some nice spots for dinner. We're not the fine dining type though, was hoping to get some recommendations from you lovely folk based on other places we've been to and loved.

Sammi & Soupe Dumpling - this is probably our favourite place in the city currently

Pizza Toni - went yesterday and didn't seem as good as previous years?

Patty Slaps

Shwartz's - feels like you have to

Dunn's - close to our hotel and easy just after a flight or a late night

Escondite Vieux Port

Fairmont Bagel - yet to go but excited!

Any other excellent local places we should try similar to this list? We're not opposed to something less casual, but we really don't want to be breaking the bank!

Never had to go to HR about anything before in my life. However, currently having a problem with my manager as I've asked for a pay rise and seemingly nothing is being done about it. My manager tells me I am due for one and am working hard enough for one, happy for me to have one, but is not actually having conversations with their manager/HR about making it happen after several weeks.

There is also a separate issue of a colleague of mine has been promoted in to a role that I would have been interested in going for myself... had I known about it. My colleague is just as hard working and skilled as myself, no issue of me being more deserving of it, genuinely happy for them. My issue is that I had no idea the opportunity was available and that my manager, outwardly happy with my output and attitude, seemingly didn't consider me for it or talk to me about it. Also, the way I found out about it after all was said and done. My manager didn't tell me, a friend in a different department did.

I'm trying to work through these things with my manager myself and happy to continue pushing them on why all this is happening and what I can do to help. However, does this feel like I need to escalate things to HR? My relationship with my manager is souring, I don't feel like they're looking out for me and that their actions are contradicting their words.
