We are heading to the island this weekend and wondering if our itinerary is doable. We are avid day hikers and have done many steep long (10+ miles) trails for many days in a row. This is my first time backpacking in a long time, but my husband goes once a year.

We arrive via ferry at noon and hope to go to:

Day 1 Lane Cove

Day 2 McCargoe Cove

Day 3 Daisy Farm

Day 4 Ferry at 2 pm

Are we crazy? Do we try it and see if we need to cut out McCargoe? Any other recommended route for three nights?

Has anyone ever used a "portable range hood"? The ones you put on your counter and run when you're cooking? We do not currently have a range hood unless you count the exhaust fan that's part of the microwave (which I don't). There is no good way to run the necessary venting due to the layout of our house.

Or any other suggestions?
