Neighborhood Cats

I have a question regarding cats. I am not a cat owner, so i don’t know or understand the logic with this.

I live in a neighborhood where the lots are 1/2 acre in size, so pretty small. Almost nightly my cameras are triggered by a black cat making its rounds through the yard.

I could care less if it was just passing through, but it’s using the sandy area around our above ground pool as its litter box and it’s making the pool area stink. This in turn is bringing in additional critters to check out the smells.

I dont think this is a stray. I get the impression its someones cat, but whats the logic of letting it out to roam at night? If i livetrap the thing and take it to a shelter am i in the wrong?

Solar Covers

Hey guys. Do any of you have any suggestions for removing/installing your solar covers. Got a 24’ 12mil cover that is just a pain to deal with. I know they make reels, but I’m looking for some boots on the ground experience if you got it.

Question for those with experience

Back in 2008 i purchased my house as a “starter.” I happen to live in an area where the housing market has exploded since then. I bought my house for $117k and now it could easily be sold for 2.5x that amount based on comps in the neighborhood. The home is almost paid off - just FYI.

My question is about the process of buying/selling. Do people typically put their house on the market and look for a new house after an offer or vice versa? Im not sure if i can afford to relocate, but theres appeal for an upgrade to accommodate the family and certain aspects of our life. The process seems intimidating, so any info would be appreciated. Thank you for help.
