A Quiet Opening
Walking through the woods, I found an opening where a sapling grew beside a broken limb now buried in tall grass.
It was surrounded by bushes, flowers, and weeds, each competing for sunlight and rainfall.
The sapling rose tallest among them, a strong contender for sure.
The bushes sprawled wide, claiming vast borders and pushing smaller kingdoms out.
The flowers, small and diverse, existed peacefully, happy with the land they had.
I smiled and walked away.
A Novel of You
When I think I've grasped you, you turn the page, revealing more.
You entered my life like a spring breeze— gentle and refreshing.
I found you lovely, almost simple.
Then you turned the page: colors flooded the room like flowered fields, talent unfazed by the world's monotony.
I found you enticing and underappreciated.
Then you turned the page again: a mind deeper than any trench, dreams climbing above the clouds.
I found you vast and elusive.
And at last I knew you: You are ineffable.
Borrowed Serenity
Your hair gathers dusk like a soft promise.
Orange light threads through endless blonde, halo-borrowed from the sun.
You move through the world like an angel;
life and youth emanate from your very being.
When you glance at me, I forget the darkness sewn to my back.
When you hold me I become weightless.
You leave and coldness enters.
Your beauty moves like the tide — visible, inexorable, unchained.
