EARN MONEY QUICK : User Testing vs Surveys / One is a total waste of my time
I tried earning a little extra money on user testing sites and survey platforms, thinking it would fit around family life. One of them turned out to be a total waste of time.
User testing was surprisingly good. I signed up for a couple of sites, the tasks were actually interesting, and I liked giving feedback on real websites and apps. Over a week I made about $50 in a few short sessions, mostly in the evenings while dinner was cooking or the kids were watching a show. Payouts were quick too, which made it feel worth the effort.
Surveys, on the other hand, were frustrating. I spent a similar amount of time across several survey sites and only earned about $10. I kept getting kicked out of qualifiers halfway through, and some platforms use point systems that take forever to turn into cash. And those TikTok ads that make it look effortless? Do not believe them.
Bottom line: user testing is my go-to now. It pays better, pays faster, and the work is actually enjoyable. If you are juggling work and family, skip the surveys and try user testing instead. Your time matters.
