Help with freshman year schedule
Hi there! I’m an incoming Physics major for Fall 2026 and I’d really appreciate some advice on my first semester schedule.
Right now, I’m planning to take:
- one calculus course
- one physics course
- CASSC 101 because I’m interested in the Core
- CASIR 509 because I’ve always enjoyed international relations and global politics
I’m especially wondering about IR 509 — is it a good choice for a freshman, or are there other IR/global politics classes you’d recommend instead?
More generally, does this schedule sound manageable for a first semester physics major, or am I underestimating the workload?
