Stopping telmisartan after 6 weeks

Alright I have given the telmisartan 20 mg enough time to work and the side effects are actually only getting worse. At the beginning I noticed my heart rate was elevated and after posting on here I took the advice to push through and let my body get used to the medication. Well here I am at six weeks and I feel like my heart racing is worse. It has been waking me up out my sleep and it gives me like insomnia after that and I can’t go back to sleep for hours. Also I have had zero energy. I am a 36 year old mom of four and I can’t just lay in bed all day. I also live in Florida and feel like I’m going to pass out at times from the heat on this medicine. It is now 533 am and after being up since 1 am this morning I am going to stop taking the medicine. My blood pressure without meds averaged 120/95. Laying down it would go down to 110/80. I have occasionally gotten blood pressure spikes of 140/100 which scare me and makes me feel like anxiety. I’m making lifestyle changes and really just want to get my blood pressure down. Blood pressure started at the end of my last pregnancy and never really went away after that. I do have 50 pounds to lose and I am actively working on that. I am only 5 ft tall so the extra weight is just not good for my body. I have tried losartan, Amlodipine, and now telmisartan and I have hated them all. I’m trying to do the right thing and take the medicine but it just seems I am sensitive to everything.

High heart rate on Telmisartan

I am wondering if anyone experienced an increase in resting heart rate on telmisartan and if how long after stopping the medication did it take for the heart rate to return to normal? My heart rate used to be 57-65 while sleeping but since being on telmisartan is averages close to 80 while asleep and 90-100 while sitting during the day.

Telmisartan causing pounding heart beat

I’ve been taking telmisartan 20 mg for 8 days now. After the first couple of days it caused a pounding elevated heart rate. Now the heart rate has kind of lowered to normal but I still get the feeling that my heart is pounding really hard when laying down. My blood pressure hasn’t changed at all either.. I’m around 120/95 which I’m wondering if it would be worth just reducing it naturally instead of dealing with the effects of medicine… I really hate taking medicine.

Telmisartan causing elevated heart rate

I am on day 6 of taking Telmisartan 20 mg and this evening my resting heart rate is elevated at times going to 106. I am trying to go to sleep but the elevation in heart rate is keeping me up. I have a smart ring and my heart rate was elevated last night while sleeping as well. Not crazy but up to 80 while asleep. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m trying to push though and just drink water but I’m tired :/
