Fun fact: He was credited as 꼰대남(“Kkondaenam”). Kkondae is a Korean term referring to an older man who’s set on his old fashioned beliefs and constantly insists that his opinion is right and yours is wrong.

Another one of my favorite characters to draw. She was definitely one I was so dead set on getting right.
She was such a strong character who was done really dirty during the last few episodes of Season 1. But it’s at least good to know that her mother and brother are in good hands.

As a celebration to Season 1’s premiere five years ago (God, I’m old), I thought it would be fun to do a series of drawings recreating the icons of the 33rd batch of players. I plan to release 25 drawings within the coming days, not just of the main cast, but other side/supporting/minor players who’ve had some kind of role to play.
Appropriately, we’ll start this series off with the Man With the Umbrella himself, Seong Gi-hun.
Side note: Originally, I was planning on doing all 25 planned icons in a single drawing following a diamond grid and releasing it right on the anniversary. But personal life stuff happened, as well as getting sick days before the planned due date kinda hindered my progress (funny how things don’t really go to plan in life). But since I’ve got most of the drawings done, I figured it would be a lot easier for the sake of my well-being to just release them individually on a daily basis. That way, it’ll give me ample time to finish up the left over drawings, as well as doing some necessary edits on the existing drawings, and then release them all in one big drawing in the very end.
Side-side note: If you’re wondering, YES, I do plan on creating a grid of the Season 2-3 players in the future, but it wouldn’t be for a little while.
