Back to the ER?

Hello! This sub has been such a god send since I was diagnosed with a PE about a month ago. Thank you for everyone who’s been sharing their experiences and contributing!! Joined the club about a month ago and hoping for some perspective for what I’m currently facing.

31F - I initially experienced pain on my left side, honestly thought I’d pulled a muscle. A few days later the pain woke me up in middle of the night and we went to the ER and was diagnosed with a PE. It was minor so I was discharged with Eliquis. The next day I had an allergic reaction so back to the ER and was given a xarelto starter pack of 15mg 2x/day for 21 days. As of this week I’ve stepped down to 20mg 1x/day.

I’m traveling so I haven’t been able to see a hematologist but saw a local family doctor who prescribed anxiety meds and some basic testing. It turns out I have heterozygous Factor V.

On the starter pack I was feeling pretty good, some pain still in the beginning but generally felt like things were getting better (except for the panic attacks omg). But ling wise was feeling ok.

I’ve read that some people feel the pain comes back when they drop to the lower dose but how much is normal? I feel like everyday the pain is getting worse and I’m pretty much back to the pain levels pre-ER if I don’t take Tylenol / Clonazepam. It’s a constant dull pain and sharp with deep breaths. I’ve developed a bit of a dry random cough too.

I just started wearing an Apple Watch after reading how some of you have found them useful but I only have like 3 days worth of data so there’s not really enough there for any trends. It looks like my blood ox may be trending down but really taking that with a grain of salt due to lack of data.

Also will add, I also took some psyllium fiber capsules without enough water earlier this week and definitely irritated my lower esophagus. That’s been super uncomfortable but has generally subsided.

I have a friend in town and would rather not go the the ER immediately. We are planning on going out on the boat soon and being back around 2pm (currently it’s 10am).
