Pricing in the video game world
I’ve been composing in the music industry since 2017, working for many kind of projects from short films to producing for singer, and those last months i started getting more and more into composing for video games.
A few weeks ago i found the first indie game studio down to work with me, after they asked for a demo track we started negociating and they told me there last price would be between 9k and 10k USD for a 90 minutes OST (full buyout).
This seems extremely low to me, but i’m hesitating a lot since i need experience in this industry and i understand how hard it can be to get a first contract in this industry.
What do you think about this pricing ? Is it justified since I have no experience as a video game composer ?
